IAB Computerized Bookkeeping

ASR Accountancy Ltd is an accredited center for IAB computerized bookkeeping. IAB (The Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers) is a membership organization and awarding body providing qualifications in bookkeeping, payroll, and finance to members worldwide.

Level 1

The Level 1 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping qualification is specifically aimed at learners who wish to begin their studies of computerised accounting and gain entry to a Level 1 qualification within the regulated qualification framework.

The qualification has been designed to appeal to individuals within the following groups:

  • Learners starting their studies in the subject of bookkeeping from a point of no previous knowledge or experience.
  • Learners employed at a junior level with some limited basic bookkeeping knowledge and skills, who want to formalise their competence by gaining a recognised accredited qualification in bookkeeping.
  • Learners returning to study and/or work after a study or career break.
  • Learners considering a change in career.
  • Learners considering a career as a self-employed practitioner.
  • Owners of a small business wanting an introduction to the function of bookkeeping with a view of keeping financial records for their business

Level 2

The Level 2 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping qualification is specifically aimed at learners who wish to further their studies of computerised accounting and gain a qualification at Level 2 of the regulated qualification framework, either from a point of some previous knowledge or having already achieved the IAB Level 1 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping.


The qualification will also appeal to those learners who already have some practical knowledge and skills and wish to gain an accredited qualification in the subject of computerised accounting.


Owners of small businesses should also find the qualification useful as it gives coverage of the use of commercially available computerised software suitable for maintaining accounts for a small business.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you could move on to one of the following:

  • Level 3 Certificate in Computerised Bookkeeping and Accounting 601/9055/3
  • Apply for professional membership at the grade of Associate

Level 3


The Level 3 Certificate in Computerised Bookkeeping and Accounting qualification is primarily designed to appeal to learners who already have a good working knowledge of the software, and wish to further their studies of computerised bookkeeping within a working business environment gaining a qualification at Level 3 of the regulated qualification framework, or having already achieved the IAB Level 2 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping.


The qualification will also appeal to those learners who already have good practical knowledge and skills and wish to gain an accredited qualification in the subject.


Owners of small businesses may also find the qualification useful as it gives coverage of the wide range of tasks that can be carried out using commercially available accounting software suitable for maintaining accounts for a small business.
